Barley flakes

Barley flakes are useful as garnish for soups. Yoghurt producers add them to müsli because they do not get saturated as easily as other kinds of flakes.

Description

Barley

Barley is known to be one of the oldest cereals known to humans. It is estimated that 10,000 years ago, desert dwellers in southwest Asia fed themselves and their animals with barley grain. More recent studies suggest that the species originated in Southeast Asia or in the mountainous regions of present-day Ethiopia.
